Game of the week: We have been telling everyone to watch out for Frisco’s football (7-1) team this season.

Frisco knocked off previously undefeated Frisco Lone Star, 29-12, on Friday.

Frisco’s Idress Ali ran for 181 yards on 35 carries against Lone Star. Ali is closing in on 2,000 yards rushing for the season. Ali had rushed for 19 touchdowns and 1,873 yards.

Ali scored the game’s first touchdown on a 19-yard run in the first quarter. In the second, he punched in a touchdown from the Lone Star 3-yard line. Frisco went into the half ahead, 22-6.

Lone Star quarterback Jason Shelley (17-24-0) passed for 170 yards and two touchdowns. Shelley ran for 71 on 26 rushing attempts. Shelley is closing in on four milestones. He has passed for 1,951 yards and 26 touchdowns and run for 847 yards and nine touchdowns.

Lone Star’s Michael Johnson (7-97 yards receiving) caught two touchdown passes from Shelley. Johnson scored from the Frisco 43 in the second quarter and from 10 yards out in the fourth quarter.

Lone Star’s Robert Hall was held to 30 yards rushing by Frisco. He has rushed for 14 touchdowns this season.

Jaylen Dixon has 46 receptions and 10 touchdowns for Lone Star. Dixon had six catches for 15 yards vs. Frisco.

Luke Wadley scored on a 3-yard run, and Lucas Reynolds ran in from the 4-yard line for Frisco touchodwns.

Lone Star (8-1) takes on Frisco Independence at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30. The Frisco Raccoons (7-1) play Wakeland on Thursday, Oct. 29 and Liberty on Friday, Nov. 6.
