McKinney CDC announces grants
The McKinney Community Development Corporation (MCDC) has announced grant awards totaling $50,000 for initiatives and activities that enhance quality of life for McKinney residents, attract visitors to the community and promote the city for the purpose of developing new or expanded business opportunities.

The grants below were awarded by MCDC:

  • Strikes Against Cancer: $9,500 for the Strikes Against Cancer baseball tournament
  • Crape Myrtle Trails of McKinney: $4,000 for the Crape Myrtle Trails of McKinney Fun Run and Festival
  • Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary: $3,000 for The Heritage Festival
  • McKinney Main Street: $14,000 for Bike the Bricks
  • Habitat for Humanity of North Collin County: $1,500 for Spring Bling
  • Smiles Charity: $4,000 for the Smiles Charity Concert
  • Heritage Guild of Collin County: $9,000 for McKinney Farmer’s Market; Killis Melton Ice Cream Crank-off; Legends of McKinney Ghost Walk; and 42nd Annual Holiday Tour of Homes
  • Kiwanis Club of McKinney: $2,500 for the Historic McKinney Triathlon
  • American Cancer Society: $2,500 for the Relay For Life of McKinney

The mission of MCDC is to work proactively, in partnership with others, to promote and fund community, cultural and economic development projects that maintain and enhance quality of life in McKinney.
