Frisco Family Services Programs & Services

We offer a wide range of programs and services to meet the needs of those affected by hunger, homelessness and other urgent needs. We help them and their families by providing programs, information and resources to assist in their journey. We also help by raising awareness through public outreach and media.

Food Distribution

Qualified families shop for food in Frisco’s only Food Pantry. Set up like a grocery store, clients are able to shop for the food they know their families will eat. More than 567,800 lbs. of food was distributed to more than 3,700 individuals this past year. Food is donated by area residents, churches, civic groups and businesses. Emergency Financial Assistance

To qualified clients, we provide one-time Emergency Financial Assistance to help during their time of need. Last year, more than $301,660 was provided in Emergency Financial Assistance.

Emergency Financial Assistance may include:

Rent/Mortgage Assistance: Whole or partial payment of rent/mortgage bills is provided to qualifying families who are imminently homeless.

Utility Assistance: Whole or partial payment of utility bills is provided to qualifying families in crisis.

Medication Assistance: Medication assistance may be provided for qualifying families.

Gasoline Cards: Gasoline cards are given to qualified families to help get them to and from work, appointments or job interviews.
Adult Education

The goal at Frisco Family Services is for all of our clients to achieve or maintain self-sufficiency. Our CHAMPS (Challenging Adult Minds for Personal Success) classes facilitate with that. These life skills classes offer training in job readiness, nutritional education, parenting education, legal rights and more. If you would like to facilitate one of our classes, please email volunteer@friscocenter.org.
Seasonal Programs

During special times of the year, FFS provides seasonal programs giving extra support to families during their time of greatest need.

Summer Lunch: Through partnerships with area churches, last year we were able to provide more than 10,000 lunches and snack packs to over 300 children each day for eight weeks at different sites. Learn more.

Back to School Fun Fair: This critical program provides students (grades K-12) with a great start to the new school year with a new backpack, the required school supplies, new clothes and new shoes. Learn more.

Thanksgiving Meal Program: Through generous groups and individuals, Frisco Family Services is able to provide each family we serve with a turkey and everything needed to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving meal; something many would go without during a crisis or financial hardship. Learn more.
