A fire broke out at the Marathon refinery on Saturday afternoon, but fortunately, no injuries were reported. The Texas Office of Emergency Management alerted local residents about the fire at 12:44 p.m., confirming that the situation was being investigated.
Shelter-in-Place Ordered and Lifted
Due to the fire, a shelter-in-place order was issued for residents living north of the refinery, specifically between 21st and Bay Street. However, this precautionary measure was lifted around 2:14 p.m. as the situation was brought under control.
