A Kissimmee man has been arrested after allegedly attacking another man with a machete in an incident that occurred outside a Circle K convenience store in Florida. Angel Ramos-Arce, 35, faces charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated battery causing bodily harm.
The bizarre series of events began with a confrontation inside the store and ended with Ramos-Arce driving the victim to the hospital himself.
The Attack and Confrontation
The confrontation started on Monday outside the Circle K at 4692 West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, when Ramos-Arce allegedly began yelling at a store employee. The employee, feeling threatened, called her brother for assistance.
The situation escalated when the brother arrived and confronted Ramos-Arce. Shortly after, the employee’s boyfriend intervened, trying to separate the two men. This prompted Ramos-Arce to punch the boyfriend in the face, causing further tension.
Ramos-Arce then ran to his truck to retrieve a machete, claiming that he was using it to “intimidate” the two men because they were much larger than him. As the two men fled, Ramos-Arce followed them, eventually catching up to the brother and slashing his arm with the machete. Ramos-Arce later told authorities that the slashing was accidental.
The Remorseful Act
Despite the violent attack, Ramos-Arce allegedly felt remorseful for what had happened. In an unusual turn, he asked the victim to get into his truck so he could drive him to the hospital. Ramos-Arce said he “felt bad” about what he had done, prompting him to take the injured man to AdventHealth Kissimmee hospital.
The Arrest
As deputies arrived at the hospital, they found blood in Ramos-Arce’s truck and located the machete, which had been used in the attack. The woman who had witnessed the incident and identified Ramos-Arce’s truck led the authorities to the location. Ramos-Arce was promptly arrested and booked into the Osceola County jail.
Legal Consequences
Ramos-Arce faces serious charges following the attack. He has been charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated battery causing bodily harm. His actions, though seemingly remorseful, have led to significant legal repercussions, and he will likely face a court trial to determine the consequences of his violent actions.
