Allen 38, Flower Mound Marcus 28: Allen is 5-0 after holding off Flower Mound Marcus, 38-28, on Friday at Eagles Stadium.

Allen’s Kerry Hall (3-41 yards receiving) scored first on a 21-yard pass from Seth Green. The Eagles quarterback Green followed that scoring drive with his own 75-yard scoring run with 4:27 yards. In between, Marcus scored on an interception return from the Allen 22-yard line.

Green (1-6-3, 21 yards, 1 TD) turned the quarterbacking duties over to Mitchell Jonke (10-19-0, 186 yards), who fired touchdown passes of 8 yards to Kirby Bennett and 39 yards to Camden Harrison (3-87 yards receiving) in the second quarter.

Bennett led Allen in rushing with 20 carries for 147 yards. He caught two passes for six yards.

Allen kicker Connor Limpert made a 26-yard field goal, and Trent Barrence (2 for 3 yards rushing) scored on a 3-yard run. Limpert scored eight points in Allen’s 10-point victory.

Alex Albright scored three touchdowns receiving for Marcus (4-1), which plays Flower Mound (1-4) in 6-6A on Oct. 2. Marcus travels to Plano to take on Plano West on Oct. 9.

Allen (5-0) goes to Lewisville (2-2) on Friday, Oct. 2. Allen plays at Hebron (1-4) on Oct. 9.

Bishop Dunne 61, John Paul II 14: John Paul II quarterback Andrew Haidet scored touchdowns on runs of 1 and 4 yards. Haidet (14-28-2) passed for 113 yards. Zach Goodman caught six passes for 39 yards.

Prestonwood (3-1) plays at John Paul II (0-4) on Friday, Oct. 2. JP II plays at Bishop Lynch in Dallas on Oct. 9.

Celina 53, Melissa 13: Celina’s Travis Tolbert made two interceptions and Trent Lindblad recovered a fumble to set up the Bobcats scoring machine. Quarterback Conner Pingleton (13-18-0) passed for 244 yards as Celina remained unbeaten.

Ismael Ortiz (11-81 yards, 2 TD rushing) scored the first Celina touchdown on a 4-yard run, and Luke Reeder hauled in the next for a 26-yard TD reception. Ortiz scored in the second quarter on a 32-yard run and also caught a pass for 27 yards.

Reeder, who caught five passes for 98 yards, scored from the Melissa 2-yard line in the second quarter on his only rushing attempt.

Lindblad scored when he recovered the fumble with 11:02 showing on the clock in the first half in the end zone.

In the second half, Pingleton (1-yard run), Caleb Knowles (3-yard run) and Bradon Barr (1-yard run) scored touchdowns for Celina. Knowles was 3 of 4 with no interceptions and 24 yards passing. Pingleton ran seven times for 86 yards. John Franlin caught five passes for 81 yards.

Melissa’s Preston Jones (7-65 yards) scored two touchdowns on runs from the Celina 2- and 39-yard lines in the second half. Christian Norton caught two passes for 142 yards. Jordan Fortner ran a dozen times for 66 yards.

Celina’s (5-0) plays at Anna on Friday, Oct. 9 and at home against Bridgeport (4-0) on Oct. 16. Anna played Callisburg on Friday.

Quarterback Tate Whittington (6-16-3) passed for 178 yards for Melissa (1-4), which plays next at Gilmer (4-0) on Oct. 9 in 5-4A. Melissa beat Commerce, 29-26, last week.

Farmersville 61, Kemp 27: Farmersville’s Caleb Twyford ran for four touchdowns and 215 yards and passed for one. On defense, Twyford returned an interception for a touchdown to sting the Yellowjackets.

Twyford’s rushing touchdowns came on runs from the Kemp 1-, 29- and 1-yard line in the first half. In the second quarter, Brady Eliot caught one and turned it into a 44-yard TD pass play from Twyford (4-5-0, 70 yards passing).

Twyford scored again in the third quarter on an 85-yard interception return. He punched in a 7-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.

Lucas Hernandez (5-54 yards rushing) scored on a 29-yard run in the third quarter for Farmersville.

Cade Twyford (12-110 yards rushing) scored on a 38-yard run in the fourth quarter, and Elijah Carroll (2-14 yards) scored from the Kemp 10-yard line.

Chase Hacker went 5 for 5 with no interceptions and 46 yards passing.

In 5-3A action, Farmersville (4-1) plays up north in Pottsboro on Oct. 9 then goes to Whitesboro on Oct. 16.

Frisco Centennial 31, Frisco 27 (OT): Frisco Centennial’s Conner Martin kicked a 32-yard field goal to put his team ahead of Frisco early in a 4-point overtime victory on Friday. In the overtime, Frisco struck first on Luke Wadley’s 22-yard field goal. Centennial came right back with a touchdown from Kenny Nelson (6-101 yards) on a 19-yard pass from Court Walker.

Centennial’s Walker (14-29-0) passed for 231 yards and two touchdowns against Frisco. Walker scored on runs of 1 and 8 yards.

Anthony Pegues ran for 111 yards on 25 carries. Walker, the QB, ran for two touchdowns and finished with 45 yards on nine keepers.

Danny Mustaca (4-86 receiving) scored on a 15-yard pass from Walker.

Frisco’s Wadley also made a 21-yarder in the fourth quarter.

Frisco’s Idrees Ali (37-289 yards rushing) ran for almost eight yards per carry. Ali scored on runs of 10 and 72 yards.

Frisco Lone Star 35, Little Elm 6: Frisco Lone Star quarterback Jason Shelley passed for 230 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 108 yards and a TD at Little Elm on Lake Lewisville on Friday night in District 9-5A.

Ray Onyango put points on the scoreboard with a fumble recovery in Lobos’ end zone in the first quarter with 9:47 showing.

Shelley (15-30-1) connected with Jrayton Fuksa (6-131 yards receiving) from the Lone Star 26. Fuksa made the play a 74-yard scoring pass at 6:01 in the first quarter.

After a scoreless second quarter, Robert Hall (9-60 yards rushing) scored from the Lobos’ 15-yard line.

Shelley found Colby Shelton open for a 38-yard touchdown pass. It was Shelton’s lone catch of the evening. Shelley, who averaged just over 6 yards a keeper, made it a 21-point quarter for Lone Star with a 10-yard TD run.

Winless Little Elm scored in the fourth quarter on a catch by DeShon Gilbert for a 44-yard TD pass from Austin Carter.

Lone Star (5-0) plays The Colony (2-3) in Frisco on Thursday, Oct. 1. Then on Oct. 9, Lone Star takes on Frisco Centennial (3-1).

Frisco Wakeland 44, Frisco Liberty 36: Wakeland’s Mason Doerr (13-21-0) passed for 240 yards and three touchdowns, and Jay Orji ran 26 times for 227 yards and a game-deciding fourth-quarter TD in a come-from-behind 9-5A victory over Liberty.

Cole Starnes ran 13 times for 128 yards and two touchdowns for Wakeland, which trailed 14-0 after the first quarter.

Doerr’s top passing target was Noah Anderson (4-90 yards receiving and 1 TD). Tanner Euting (2-68 yards) and Cole Hutchens (3-43 yards) found holes in the Liberty defense.

Doerr’s first touchdown completion went to Nick Cryer from the Liberty 11-yard line in the second quarter. Liberty scored the game’s first 14 points. Wakeland scored all the points in the second quarter for a 17-14 lead at half time. Euting came up with an interception in the second quarter.

Starnes scored on a 2-yard run with 1:25 left in the first half. Kicker Brice Lear made a 20-yard field goal to give Wakeland a 3-point lead at the end of the second quarter.

The third quarter scoring started fast on Doerr’s 36-yard touchdown pass at 10:23 to Anderson. Starnes scored next at 9:20 on a touchdown run from the Liberty 7-yard line.

Euting hauled in a 49-yard catch on a strike from Doerr with 3:51 remaining in the third quarter.

Reggie Hubbard (14-106 yards) scored on a 1-yard run in the first quarter and a 24-yard run at 1:44 in the third quarter to cut Wakeland’s lead to 37-29 going into the fourth quarter.

Orji’s touchdown came with 11:05 to go in the fourth quarter on a 4-yard run. Orji averaged 8.7 yards per carry.

Liberty’s Chris McPhaul (15-169 yards) scored on runs of 6 and 5 yards in the second half.

Reggie Chaney (4-98 yards receiving) opened the scoring on a 61-yard pass from Grant Buss (7-21-3, 132 yards) in the first quarter.

Liberty (1-4) plays at Little Elm (0-5) in 9-5A on Friday, Oct. 9 and hosts The Colony on Thursday, Oct. 15.

Wakeland (2-2) plays winless Little Elm in Frisco on Friday, Oct. 2.

McKinney Boyd 41, Plano West 31: McKinney Boyd’s Grant Restmeyer completed 20 of 34 and passed for 269 yards and three touchdowns on Friday against Plano West at Coach John Clark Stadium in a 41-31 victory.

Kaeden Markhum ran for 133 yards on 19 carries for Boyd. Restmeyer kept it nine times for 53 yards.

Stephen Driskill caught seven passes for 97 yards. Jeremiah Campbell caught three for 52 yards. Markham caught three for 44 yards and a 30-yard touchdown. Brandon Bowling hauled in four passes for 40 yards. Julian Coaxum caught four for 36.

Plano West’s Tyler Campbell ran eight times for 64 yards and a 1-yard touchdown. Campbell caught two for nine yards.

Plano West’s Tanner Harmon had nine receptions for 93 yards and a 22-yard touchdown catch.

Bennett Dubrow caught five for 67 yards and scored on a 30-yard pass from Logan Williams (16-24-0, 179 yards passing).

DaVonte Carline went two for eight receiving and scored on a 1-yard run.

Alastair Stark made a 27-yard field goal for Plano West (1-3), which plays Plano (3-2) on Friday, Oct. 2 and Flower Mound Marcus (4-1) on Oct. 9.

Boyd (2-3) plays Plano East (4-0) on Oct. 2 and at Plano on Oct. 16.

Plano 36, Flower Mound 31: Plano’s Blake Mazza kicked field goals of 44, 30 and 43 yards, and Brandon Stephens scored on runs of 67 and 10 yards to win at Flower Mound in District 6-6A on Friday night. Mazza scored 12 points in the 5-point victory.

Stephens ran for 223 yards on 28 carries.

In the third quarter, Carson Williams (4-82 yards receiving) hauled in a 23-yard TD pass from Matt Keys (11-55-0, 2 TD, 197 yards passing).

The Wildcats scored with 34 seconds left in the first half on a TD catch by Garrett Frederick (3 for 75 yards receiving) on a 23-yard pass from Matt Keys.

Plano (3-2) trailed 14-13 at intermission. Plano plays Plano West (1-3) on Oct. 2 and Plano East (4-0) on Oct. 9.

Prestonwood 63, Trinity Christian Addison 29: Prestonwood’s Ryan Cash (21-29-1) passed for 325 yards and four touchdowns in a 63-29 victory over Trinity Christian Addison (1-3) on Friday. Cash also ran for 61 yards on six carries and scored a TD from the TCA 3-yard line.

PCA’s Collin Whitaker (19-210 yards rushing) scored two touchdowns rushing and averaged a first down on every carry. Whitaker had three receptions for 54 yards and a touchdown. In the second quarter, Whitaker scored on a 28-yard run at 11:28 and then Cash connected with him for a 37-yard TD catch. He scored for the third time in the second quarter on a 10-yard run.

PCA’s Keegan Ferer (8-118 yards receiving) caught two touchdown passes, including a 48-yard scoring pass and a 4-yard TD pass in the first quarter. Earl Bullock Jr. and Jonathan Heasley each caught four passes. Heasley scored on a 55-yard catch.

PCA (3-1) plays at John Paul II on Friday, Oct. 7.

Princeton 33, Gainesville 6: On the road up on the Oklahoma border, Princeton’s Colt Collins threw a scoring strike to Steven Molina from the Gainesville 43-yard line and then hit Sadavion Matthews for a 28-yard TD pass to jump ahead by two touchdowns.

Princeton made big plays on defense at Gainesville to get the ball back. Regan Wilkins recovered a fumble and made an interception. Danny Boyles recovered a fumble. Moonie Jackson came up with an interception.

George Flores (10-89 yards rushing) scored on a 30-yard run in the second quarter to give Princeton a 19-0 lead at the half.

In the third quarter, winless Gainesville scored on a 1-yard run by Luis Huerta.

Princeton fired up the scoring engines again in the fourth quarter as Collins ran into the end zone from 16 yards out, and then completed a 39-yard TD pass to Daniel Hernandez. Collins (10-16-1) finished with 177 yards and three touchdowns passing. Collins ran for 58 yards on nine keepers.

Princeton (4-1) plays at Quinlan Ford near Lake Tawakoni on Friday, Oct. 9.

Prosper 47, Sherman 15: Prosper’s Ryan Davis passed for 170 yards and three touchdowns and scored the game’s first touchdown on a 1-yard run against Sherman on in 10-5A on Friday night.

Davis (7-8-0) completed two touchdown passes to Cedric Haskins. The first came from the Sherman 19-yard line in the first quarter. The second was a 27-yarder 3:16 before half time. Haskins had three receptions for 62 yards.

Robert Mahone (4-90 yards receiving) caught one from Davis and turned it into a 64-yard touchdown pass play at 9:31 into the third quarter.

Bayley Mack (1-29 yards receiving), Kaleb Adams (4-16 rushing) and Austin Lind (10-57 yards rushing) scored touchdowns for Prosper (3-1), which plays at McKinney against North (3-1) on Thursday, Oct. 1.

Easton Murrell (5-8-0) passed for 79 yards, including the 29-yard TD to Mack in the second quarter.

The Colony 70, Frisco Independence 41: Khalil Banks scored on runs of 4, 30, 16 and 48 yards against Frisco Independence on Friday’s Homecoming night.

Banks finished with 17 carries for 201 yard for The Colony, which had beaten Heritage at home on the lake, 70-43, two weeks ago.

The Colony’s Kendrick Johnson (9-130 yards rushing) scored on 24-yard run and then a 60-yard run. Josh Crow (6-136 yards) delivered touchdown runs of 18 and 56 yards against Independence.

The Colony’s Austin Myers pulled in an interception and scored from 47 yards out on the interception return.

On the other side of the ball, Cotton Nielsen caught five passes for 95 yards and a 16-yard TD pass from Saddler, who passed for three touchdowns for Independence.

Independence’s Kolbre Smith (2 TD) caught a 38-yard touchdown pass from Kyle Saddler (23-36-1, 325 yards) and followed that with a TD on a 79-yard scoring pass. Smith finished with four receptions for 133 yards.

Independence’s Ryan Houston had touchdown runs from The Colony 1- and 5-yard lines.

Darius Mitchell scored from the Independence on a 32-yard pass from Jemel Jones Jr. for The Colony, which plays next at Frisco against Lone Star (5-0) on Thursday, Oct. 1. After that, The Colony (2-3) returns home to play Frisco Wakeland (2-2).

Independence (2-3) plays Frisco Centennial (3-1) at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1. Independence plays Heritage (2-2) on Oct. 9.
Wylie 24, McKinney 21: Wylie’s Emilio Ames (21-30-0) passed for 153 yards and ran for 63 and Brandon Cunningham made a 29-yard field goal in a 3-point win over McKinney. Cunningham’s field goal came with 1:28 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Ames scored on a 5-yard run in the second quarter.

Tyrell Mauzy had eight receptions for 22 yards and ran for 11 yards on two carries. Mauzy scored the first touchdown of the game on a 2-yard run at 10:44 in the second quarter.

Wylie’s David Addo ran for 56 yards on 11 carries. Addo scored on a 22-yard run with 1:33 left in the third quarter as Wylie led, 21-0, going into the fourth quarter.

McKinney quarterback Damon Witmer led the Lions to 21 points in the fourth quarter. Witmer ran for 132 yards on 20 rushing attempts and passed for 82 yards (9-19-0, 1 TD).

Walker Torrain ran for two touchdowns and 53 yards on 14 carries. Torrain scored on runs of 2 and 4 yards in the fourth quarter against Wylie.

Quinton Quirrenbach caught a 20-yard TD pass from Witmer with 45 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.

Wylie (2-2) plays Wylie East (3-1) on Friday, Oct. 2. Denison (2-2) plays at Wylie on Oct. 9.

McKinney (2-2) plays up north in Denison (2-2) on Friday, then at home against Sherman before facing McKinney North.

Wylie East 72, McKinney North 43: Wylie East’s Eno Benjamin ran for 265 yards and five touchdowns. Benjamin scored touchdowns of 5 and 8 yards in the first quarter to warm up for TD runs of 71 and 70 yards in the second quarter against McKinney North on Friday night.

Quarterback Braden Shewmake passed for a 22-yard touchdown to Justin Bailey (2-47 yards receiving) and connected for a 46-yard TD with Jared Wyatt (2-67 yards receiving) for a 51-27 lead at half time over McKinney North.

In the third quarter, Shewmake (12-18-0, 215 yards) found Kyler Paredes (1-8 yards) open from the North 8-yard line for a Wylie East TD. Shewmake gained 69 yards on QB keepers against North.

Benjamin, who ran 27 times for Wylie East, scored again from the North 3-yard line in the fourth quarter. He also caught two passes for 11 yards.

Wylie East’s Nehemiah Reason (4-66 yards rushing) found an opening from his own 45 and ran 55 yards to the end zone for six more points in a 21-point second half.

McKinney North’s North’s Chase Carraher made a field goal from 22 yards out in the first quarter and nailed a 31-yarder in the second.

McKinney North’s Christian Files (13-58 yards, 3 TD on quarterback keepers) ran for touchdowns from the Wylie East 8-, 7- and 1-yard lines.

Micah Bualicex (25-167 yards rushing) scored for North on a 25-yard pass from QB Files (20-34-0, 216 yards, 1 TD passing) in the second quarter and on a 2-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Brennan Harris caught nine passes for 107 yards, and Miquel Hudson made six catches for 47 yards for McKinney North (3-1), which plays at home against Prosper (3-1) on Thursday in 10-5A. North draws Lovejoy (3-1) on Oct. 9 and then McKinney (2-2) on Oct. 16.

In 10-5A, Wylie East (3-1) plays Wylie (2-2) on Friday, then heads to Prosper (3-1) on Oct. 9.

Allen 56, Viera, Fla., 20 – Seth Green (8-13-0) passed for 210 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 53 more yards as Allen beat Viera, Fla., 56-20. Kirby Bennett rushed a dozen times for 113 yards.

Connor Limpert made field goals of 29, 28 and 38 yards. Michael Ewton kicked in a 40-yard field goal.

Green ran for two touchdowns on runs of 5 and 1 yard.

Lionel McConnell scored two touchdowns and gained 108 yards receiving. McConnell hauled in a pass from Green and went 72 yards in the second quarter. He scored again from 36 yards out in the third quarter.

Levi Onwuzurike returned a point-after kick try that was blocked for an 83-yard scoring play.

Tevyn Stevenson turned a catch into a 30-yard pass from Green inside two minutes before halftime.

Mitchell Jonke (5-8-1) passed for 41 yards. Alex Robinson (47 yards), Trent Barrence (44 yards), Jonke (31 yards) and Jared Tajalle (27 yards) gave Allen another 149 yards rushing.

Celina 59, Bryan Adams 28: Celina’s Conner Pingleton passed for five touchdowns and 243 yards to give Bryan Adams (1-1) a night to remember on Friday in Celina.

Celina (2-0) fans saw touchdown catches from John Franklin (25 yards), Riley Nebeker (32 yards), Trace Young (37 yards) and Brayson Watson (4-72 yards receiving), who had TDs scoring strikes of 16 and 31 yards.

Pingleton (11-14-0) drove Celina to a 500-yard night on offense. Christian Rivas (4-94 yards) led the Bobcats rushing. Alec Daniels had 49 yards carrying the ball.

Coppell 34, McKinney Boyd 14: Josh Fink and Brady McBride teamed up for three touchdown passes to beat McKinney Boyd, 34-14. Fink scored on TD receptions of 9, 7 and 7 yards. Coppell is 2-0.

For McKinney Boyd (1-1), Grant Restmeyer (15-29-0) passed for 244 yards and a touchdown.

Brandon Bowling (7-104 yards) and Jeremiah Campbell (3-92 yards) led Boyd in receiving. Campbell scored on a 70-yard pass play from Restmeyer in the fourth quarter.

Kaeden Markham (14-56 yards rushing) scored for Boyd in the fourth quarter on a 1-yard run.

Frisco 35, Red Oak 14: Frisco’s Ali Idrees scored on runs of 37,27,19 and 9 yards as Frisco downed Red Oak, 35-14. Idrees gained 287 yards, averaging a first down on each rushing attempt.

AJaye Owens (8-52 yards) and Lucas Reynolds (6-48) gave Frisco another 100 yards rushing. Frisco is 2-0. Red Oak is 0-2.

Frisco Centennial 30, Lake Dallas 19: Frisco Centennial’s Anthony Pegues used 26 attempts to gain 185 yards in a 30-19 victory at Lake Dallas on Friday.

Centennial (1-1) gained 7 yards every time Pegues carried the football. His big play came in the first quarter on a TD run from the 50-yard line.

In the fourth quarter, Raleigh Texada returned an interception for a 25-yard touchdown as Lake Dallas fell to 1-1.

Kicker Conner Martin kicked field goals of 22, 29 and 41 yards.

QB Court Walker was 8 of 12 for 96 yards passing.

Lake Dallas’ Keegan Brewer scored on 14-yard TD catch, 4-yard run and tossed a 34-yard pass to Chris Slater.

Frisco Heritage 51, Carrollton Creekview 31: Frisco Heritage’s Kene Nwangwu scampered for five touchdowns and 252 yards in a 51-31 victory over Carrollton Creekview. Nwangwu scored on runs of 80, 73, 27, 13 and 2 yards and gained 500 yards on Friday at Frisco’s Toyota Stadium.

The first score came on Amare Jones’ 55-yard pass to Bubba Ogbebor. Heritage is 2-0. Ogbebor had four catches for 97 yards. Jones was 7-11-0, 107 yards passing and 6-57 rushing. Heritage averaged 9.7 yards a carry with Nwangwu picking up 13.8 per rush.

Frisco Lone Star 48, North Forney 7: Frisco Lone Star QB Jason Shelley passed for three touchdowns as his team beat North Forney, 48-7, on Friday.

Shelley (15-24-0) threw for 237 yards, and completed touchdown passes early to Colby Shelton from the North Forney 13, and another for a 56-yard scoring play late in the first quarter.

Jaylen Dixon caught a 25-yard touchdown pass from Shelley early in the second quarter.

Robert Hall ran 14 times for 57 yards and two touchdowns. Hall scored on runs of 1 and 4 yards.

Shelley gained 95 yards on 11 quarterback keepers and scored a touchdown rushing from the North Forney 30-yard line.

Jacob Click made field goals from 37 and 18 yards.

Lone Star is 2-0. North Forney 0-2.

Frisco Wakeland 45, Lovejoy 33: Frisco Wakeland’s Jay Orji gained 310 yards rushing and scored two touchdowns in a 45-33 victory over Lovejoy at Toyota Stadium on Thursday.

Wakeland (1-1) finished with 542 total yards and Lovejoy gained 522.

Wakeland fans saw Orji (12 yards a carry) open the scoring with his run up the middle for 73 yards.

Wakeland scored on a 63-yard run by Orji late in the game to nail down the win.

Wakeland QB Mason Doerr (13-23-0, 179 yards) threw for all three of his touchdown passes in the first half. Cole Hutchens (8-126 yards) hauled in two of the TD passes. Charles Robinson (2-34) also scored on a TD pass.

Aaron Fuller (16-167 yards receiving) and Bowman Sells (33-49-0, 379 yards passing) led Lovejoy’s rally. come back, pulling within five points with less than two minutes to go. Fuller scored two touchdowns receiving and one rushing for Lovejoy (1-1).

Irving Cistercian 42, John Paul II 13: Max Schieferdecker led Irving Cistercian to a 42-13 victory over John Paul II, which fell to 0-2. Scheiferdecker (24-31) passed for 358 yards and four touchdowns.

Cistercian’s Conner Ryan caught nine passes for 130 yards and two touchdown catches.

John Paul was led by Andrew Haidet (10-34, 140 yards) passing. JP running back Eric Johnson gained 129 yards on 17 carries. Ge scored on a 30-yard run.

Haidet put JP on the board again with a 69-yard TD pass to Truett Pittman.

McKinney 35, Frisco Liberty 34: McKinney’s Ron Poe Stadium was the backdrop for an exciting finish as McKinney held off Frisco Liberty, 35-34, on Friday. The outcome came down to Liberty going for a two-point conversion.

McKinney (1-1) managed to stop the conversion attempt in the final minute to capture the win. The big play came moments after Grant Buss scored on a 3-yard plunge.

Walker Torrain (20-189 yards) put McKinney on the scoreboard first on a 3-yard TD run in the first quarter. He scored again 3 minutes before halftime on a 34-yard run.

In the second quarter, Matt Gadek (17-187 yards) scored his first of three touchdowns. Gadek had 36 yards receiving on two catches. Gadek’s TD’s came from the 2, 19, and 10 yard lines. Damon Whitmer had 60 yards rushing on 12 attempts.

Dimitri Jones led Liberty with a 236 yards rushing with two touchdowns. Buss (12-23-0) passed for 130 yards and a 17-yard touchdown completion to Chris McPhaul (5-55 yards). Buss scored from the McKinney 2- and 3-yard lines.

McKinney North 51, Little Elm 10: Justin Madubuike broke through for three sacks and returned a fumbled snap for his own 5-yard touchdown to push McKinney North to a 51-10 win at Little Elm.

On offense, K.J. Hart ran for 132 yards and scored two touchdowns. Hart scored on a 23-yard run.

QB Christian Files (16-26-0, 197 yards) scored twice on keepers, rushing four times for 30 yards. Files scored on runs of 28 and 1 yard. Files also found Miguel Hudson (3-99 yards) for a 65-yard scoring toss and a 32-yard TD pass.

Brett Hartland (31 yards) and Conner Manning (54 yards) each had five catches.

For Little Elm, Joshua Seale (11-74 yards) scored on a 41-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Kyle Waggoner made a 31-yard field goal try.

Nevada Community 48, Farmersville 40: Dillon McCormick ran for 238 yards and scored three touchdowns and Luke Medlin (12-31-0) passed for three more in Nevada (2-0) in front of the hometown fans Friday.

McCormick ground up 17 yards on average per carry. Roger Norton had 61 yards rushing and scored a TD. Medlin ran for 43 yards against Farmersville.

McCormick scored on runs of 89, 27 and 54 yards and in the fourth quarter Medlin found him open for a 78-yard TD pass. Roger Norton scored on the conversion pass from Medlin for the game-deciding eight points.

Norton’s TD came on a 29-yard run in the second quarter.

McCormick led Nevada in receiving with four receptions for 12 yards. Tommy Heard caught four passes for 89 yards. Brandon Cobb hauled in two for 56 yards. McCormick, Heard and Cobb each scored a TD receiving. Cobb scored on a 36-yard pass in the third, and Heard followed with a 39-yard TD catch.

For Farmersville (1-1), Chase Hacker (10-22-2) passed for 136 yards and ran for 193 on 13 keepers. Hacker scored two rushing touchdowns, both in the second quarter. The first was from 69 yards and the second from 66 yards away.

Caleb Twyford (14-154 yards rushing and 5-44 yards receiving) scored three touchdowns. His TD runs came from the Nevada 15-, 5- and 24-yard lines.

Cade Twyford had one TD on a 76-yard run in the first quarter.

Paris 72, Melissa 31: Paris’ Demonquez Allen (7-7-0) passed for seven touchdowns at Melissa. Jalon Pipkins (5-126 yards) scored on all five of his catches. Dren Rollerson and Jordan Furtsch added receiving touchdowns.

Melissa’s Tate Whittington passed for 100 yards and rushed for 18 yards on a TD keeper. He scored on rushing TD and passed for three. Jordan Fortner (2-24) caught two TD passes on an 18-yarder and 6-yarder. Tom Whitson added a 24-yard TD reception. Melissa drops to 0-2.

Plano 31, Irving MacArthur 29: Matt Keys, Kaleb Macaway, Daniel Rodriquez and Brandon Stephens each scored as Plano defeated Irving MacArthur, 31-29, on Thursday at Irving Schools Stadium.

Down 8-0 entering the second quarter, Plano scored when Keys found Macaway open for a 30-yard touchdown pass play. Keys scored on a 1-yard run.

Stephens followed with a 1-yard run. Keys (12-22-0, 226 yards) hit Rodriguez, who turned the catch into a 62-yard touchdown play.

Plano (2-0) didn’t fumble or throw an interception. Plano Senior beat Tyler John Tyler, 35-17, in the home opener on Aug. 28 at Coach John Clark Stadium.

The Wildcats play at Hebron next, then go to Allen to face the Eagles. Plano follows with games vs. Plano West and Plano East.

Plano East 57, Jesuit 42: Mikio Smalls and Desmond Bowden scored two touchdowns apiece, and Smalls passed for three more in Plano East’s 57-42 victory over Jesuit.

Smalls (8-15-0) passed for 209 yards. Smalls hit Tim Wilson for a 63-yard touchdown play in the first quarter. Audie Omotosho (4-110 yards) caught a 30-yard for a touchdown. Trey Hunter grabbed a pass and turned it into a 13-yard score.

Bowden (10-94 yards) scored on runs of 1 and 39 yards.

Johnathan Meadors had 60 yards rushing and a catch for 17 yards.

Prestonwood 58, TACA 8: The Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes was no match for Prestonwood, which won, 58-8, at Lions Stadium on Friday.

PCA QB Ryan Cash (17-19-0) passed for 247 yards and four touchdowns.
Collin Whitaker put PCA on top with a 30-yard run and scored on the conversion.

PCA’s Jonathan Heasley scored on passes of 9, 7 and 7 yards from Cash. Sandwiched in between two TD passes to Heasley in the second quarter, Cash completed a TD pass from 17 yards to Eric Bullock.

In the third quarter, Corey Steen scored on a 2-yard run. Mason Stringfellow scored on his own 2-yard run in the fourth quarter.

The TACA Storm scored in the fourth quarter on a 62-yard fumble return.

Prosper 29, Justin Northwest 14: Prosper’s Ryan Davis scored on runs of 6, 20 and 55 yards to beat Justin Northwest, 29-14. Davis finished with 26 carries for 183 yards.

Josh Belonga scored Prosper’s other touchdown on a 13-yard run. Robert Mahone ran for 78 yards on 21 carries.

Northwest’s Syrus Moore scored on passes of 8 and 13 yards from Hunter Johnson (21-36-2, 229 yards).

Sachse 44, Plano West 34: Sachse stopped Plano West on Friday at Coach John Clark Stadium as West battled back in the fourth quarter. Ashton Johnson returned an interception 60 yards, and Logan Williams (21-31-1, 269 yards) completed a TD pass to Tanner Harmon.

Tyler Campbell ran 13 times for 45 yards.

Matthew Dean caught seven passes for 122 yards and a touchdown.

Jackson Webb caught four passes for 65 yards and a TD. Harmon had two catches for 10 yards.

Sachse’s Keion Wilson (16-96) scored twice. Jalen Mayden ran for 101 yards on 13 tries and passed for 104 yards and a TD. Devin Duvernay (4-65 yards) and Alex Williams scored rushing, and Kameron Steen (1-35 yards) and Duvernay (5-79) each had TD catches.

Plano West (1-1) has a bye next week, then plays Plano East at Coach Kimbrough Stadium on Sept. 18. Games at Clark against McKinney Boyd and Plano follow.

West Mesquite 20, Wylie 16: West Mesquite sophomore Curtis Williams ran for two touchdowns in the first quarter and gained 153 yards to edge Wylie, 20-16, at Wylie ISD Stadium.

West Mesquite took advantage of two turnovers late in the game to hold on for the win. Wylie falls to 0-2.

Wylie QB Emilio Ames (19-36-1) passed for 203 yards and ran for 42 on 13 keepers. Ames completed a 3-yard TD to Justin Pegues, who set up the TD with a 41-yard catch down to the 2.

Eli Smith scored on a 3-yard run, and Wylie was wide awake on the next kickoff, getting the ball back on an onside kick seconds later.

Receiver Jordan Whaley had 86 yards receiving on six catches. Peques caught 5 for 58 yards. Tyrell Mauzy had 4 for 40 yards.

Wylie East 50, Mesquite Poteet 41: Eno Benjamin scored four touchdowns rushing in a 50-41 Wylie East victory over Mesquite Poteet at E.H. Hanby Stadium in Mesquite on Thursday.

Wylie East QB Braden Shewmake (12-21-2, 159 yards, 3 TD) completed touchdown passes to Benjamin (3 catches for 44 yards), Malik Dean (3-46) and Jared Wyatt (1-43).

Benjamin ran for 6.5 yards a carry, finishing with 265 yards on 41 rushes.

Shewmake had 11 keepers for 92 yards.

Kaleb Fletcher led Poteet with 298 yards passing. Donovan Marshall caught three TD passes.

Legacy Christian’s Chase Moake (10-23-0) passed for three touchdowns and 152 yards against Brook Hill.
Lovejoy’s Bowman Sells (19-26-0) had seven touchdown passes at Prosper. Sells threw for 370 yards without an interception.
McKinney’s Brian Sutter (19-27-2, 252 yards) completed two passes for touchdowns against Wylie East. Sutter spread the ball around to seven receivers.
McKinney Boyd’s Grant Restmeyer (12-17-1) passed for 178 yards and a 61-yard TD to Jeremiah Campbell vs. Flower Mound Marcus.
McKinney Christian’s Reece Shaw (9-23-0, 159 yards) passed for one TD and ran for another against TC-Cedar Hill. Shaw scored on a 27-yard run and found Isiah Gore (2-109 yards) open for a 96-yard TD catch.
McKinney North’s Nick Hutchins (25-37-1) threw for 257 yards and completed a 27-yard TD pass to Miguel Hudson at Denison.

Nevada Community’s Jordan Graham (30-39-0) passed for 501 yards and nine touchdowns at Emory Rains.
Plano East’s Miklo Smalls (14-19-0, 311 yards) passed for seven touchdowns against Lewisville. Smalls also ran for 95 yards (7.9 yards per keeper) and scored a TD rushing from 53 yards away to start the second-quarter scoring.
Prestonwood’s Ryan Cash (20-43-0, 388 yards) threw for four touchdowns vs. Nolan. Cash hit Michael Irvin for a 96-yarder and added 15- and 7-yard scoring passes to Jonathan Heasley (7-91 yards). Cash and Twayne Blackwell teamed up for a 5-yarder in the first quarter.
Princeton’s Colt Collins (18-41-3) passed for a pair of touchdowns and 249 yards.
Prosper’s Easton Murrell (14-23-2) threw for 160 yards and two touchdowns vs. Lovejoy. Murrell also ran for 103 yards and a 12-yard TD, averaging 6.1 yards a keeper.
The Colony’s Andrew Lotz (2-6-0) passed for 111 yards, including an 85-yard scoring play to Tate Alanis at Little Elm.
Wylie’s Carson Cook (17-24-0, 164 yards) completed passes to six receivers, including three for touchdowns to Jordan Whaley at Sherman. Cook also ran for 123 yards and a touchdown.
