Grant Patrol Visits Classrooms to Deliver Grants

Will fund 79 Innovative Instructional Programs
Plano ISD Education Foundation board members, program sponsors, district staff, and parent leaders personally delivered nearly $100,000 in monetary awards on Thursday, November 14, to fund 79 innovative instructional programs in Plano ISD schools.
Grant Winners
Beverly Elementary School kindergarten teachers were surprised November 14 with two grants from the Plano ISD Education Foundation Grant Patrol. Thanks to the grants, their students will benefit from innovative programs entitled “Writing for a Reason!,” and “Kindergarten Cares Club.”

The Park Place Lexus Grant Patrol traveled throughout the 100-square- mile district in seven cars courtesy of Park Place Lexus.
As part of the surprise visits, each honoree was presented a special badge proclaiming his/her selection as a 2012 grant recipient. Each grant winner’s school was presented a banner for display throughout the year. More than 100 educators were recognized throughout the morning.
The Plano ISD Education Foundation Grants to Educators program is intended to help Plano ISD educators enhance instruction in schools and classrooms across the district. Earlier in the school year, teachers had the opportunity to complete applications for grants for programs for their classes, schools or joint programs at multiple schools.
