We didn’t include every annual event in this survey, but we would like to know of these which is your favorite?
Please vote and then share?
If you would like to suggest another fun annual event, and there are some good ones not on this community list, leave a comment.
The purpose of this website is to give us something in common as thousands move into North Texas.
If you have a charity, we are here to help publicize your event. Send your information to email@example.com
Heads up Photographers!
At this event, local photographers will have an opportunity to preview the InTouch Credit Union Balloon (weather permitting) and enter the drawing for a 2017 Festival Photographer Badge.
To be entered into the drawing for a 2017 Festival Photographer Badge please bring a balloon photo taken at the Plano Balloon Festival (no larger than 4×6) with your contact name, phone number, mailing address and email address written on the back. If unable to attend please submit your photo as a jpg via email: firstname.lastname@example.org before Noon on Wednesday, Aug. 9.
The drawing will take place at 7 p.m. near the InTouch Credit Union Balloon in the parking lot of the store. If your entry photo is selected, you may pick-up your badge that evening at Central Market. If unable to stay for the drawing, the badge will be mailed to the address provided on the entry photo.
*In case of inclement weather, the drawing barrel will be located in the Central Market Café.
We have seen several long-time national chain restaurants close doors this year and last, mostly in areas with year-after-year Road and bridge construction.
Make time to enjoy breakfast at a local restaurant. May we suggest Bill Smith’s Cafe in McKinney TX, Little Gus and Tony’s Cafe of Plano, and so on … if you have a favorite let us know.
We have thousands moving in every week. One Californian who moved here from Torrance said he has yet to really see any neighbors in his temporary apartment home. If that sounds like you, hit the local recreation centers, parks, farmer’s markets and take in local events on downtown squares such as the ice cream crank-off or dog parade in McKinney. Don’t forget to go to your first ballon festival in Plano or Celina. So much to do.
Start by meeting the locals at your neighborhood restaurant. Tell them we said Hi. And remember to heed the warning to #DriveFriendly in Texas.

If you have never been to the Plano Balloon Festival, put it on your To-Do List for next September.
