What can we do?
Follow the local police reports each week on Collin County Magazine. Report crimes near you faster. Get involved by picking up that smart phone a little quicker. Most of us don’t want to get involved but there’s nothing wrong with involving the police if you see something. You may be the one who prevents a crime of convenience.
Police say if you see anything out of the ordinary, it may be something. Report it. Don’t wait until the next day. And give police a good description of what is happening or different because when police drive into your street they don’t see it every day like you do. Let them know what to look for, what vehicles are not normally there, and so on.
Call the local police and ask for a crime prevention officer to come out to talk with you and your friends every year. If you are going on vacation, find out if police can watch your house for a few days.
