Allen’s Community Theatre presents ‘Into the Woods’

Allen’s Community Theatre presents Stephen Sondheim & James Lapine’s Into the Woods

The story of the power of wishes and what really happens after they come true follows a Baker and his wife who wish to have a child, Cinderella who wishes to attend the King’s Festival, and Jack (and the Beanstalk) who wishes his cow would give milk.

When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. At the end of Act I, everyone’s wish comes true, but in Act II there is a price. The consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.

Where: 1206 E. Main Street, #105, Allen, Texas 75002, southwest corner Allen Heights and Main Street.

Performance dates: May 22, 23, 24, 30, 31, June 6, 7 at 8 p.m. May 25, 31, June 1, 7, 8 at 3 p.m.

Ticket prices: $25 (general), $22 (age 65-plus), $20 (under 18).

Purchase tickets in advance at www.AllensCommunityTheatre.net.

Note: Performances on May 31, and June 7 will be Act 1 only, intended for junior audiences.

Act II has adult situations and language, and is therefore recommended for mature audiences. Ticket prices for this show only: $15 (general), $12 (age 65+), $10 (under 18).

The Into the Woods experience continues with a Tea Party following the May 31 and June 7 matinee. Guests will meet costumed cast members and enjoy light refreshments. Cost is $10 per person. Limited seating available.
