A shocking crime has shaken a Florida family after a 15-year-old boy was accused of killing his own older brother and dumping his body in a canal. The tragic case has left their mother heartbroken, as she believes she knows what might have triggered the deadly fight.

Teenager Accused of Killing His Brother

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office has identified 15-year-old Demetre Fleurimond as the suspect in the death of his 23-year-old brother, Kevin Dominique. According to officials, Demetre admitted that he shot his brother inside the family’s home, where they lived with their mother.

After the shooting, police say he used Kevin’s car to transport the body and later dumped it in a nearby canal. The car was later discovered abandoned in a library parking lot.

How Police Found the Victim

On Tuesday morning, around 8 a.m., police received a call about a body floating in a canal in Dania Beach. When officers arrived, they confirmed that Dominique had died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigators quickly linked the crime back to Demetre. That same night, the teenager reportedly confessed to “intentionally shooting and killing” his brother.

He was immediately arrested and charged with first-degree murder with a firearm. Police confirmed he was taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center for processing.

The Missing Report Before the Discovery

According to reports, Kevin was last seen alive on Sunday. When he failed to appear at work the following day, his absence raised concerns, and he was reported missing. Sadly, his disappearance ended in tragedy when his body was discovered.

Mother Believes She Knows the Motive

The brothers’ mother, Marie Jeanty, opened up about what she believes may have caused the conflict. She recalled that on Sunday morning, she noticed the kitchen tiles had been freshly cleaned. When she questioned Demetre about it, he admitted to cleaning them but claimed Kevin had asked him to do it.

Marie said this small argument could have sparked anger in Demetre, leading to the shooting. However, when she later asked her son if he had ever been abused by Kevin, Demetre reportedly told her “no.”

What Happens Next

Reports confirmed that Demetre was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday. The case has drawn attention not just because of the crime itself, but because of the young age of the accused and the deep pain it has caused within the family.

This heartbreaking incident in Florida highlights how sudden anger can turn into violence, leading to unimaginable loss. A family has been torn apart, with one son dead and another facing serious criminal charges at just 15 years old.

The case is still under investigation, and it serves as a reminder of the importance of communication and mental health awareness among young people.
