The state of Alaska offers a unique economic program that directly benefits its residents: the Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD). Funded by the state’s oil revenues, this program helps stabilize the economy while providing financial assistance to those living in Alaska.

What Is the Permanent Fund Dividend?

The PFD is an annual payment made to Alaskans who meet specific residency requirements. Unlike stimulus checks or tax refunds, it does not require complicated applications or means testing—only verification of residency.

For many Alaskan families, this extra income serves as crucial financial relief to cover basic living expenses.

Requirements to Receive the $1,702 PFD Payment

To qualify for the PFD in Alaska, you must meet the following requirements:

Be a resident of Alaska for the entire calendar year preceding the payment.

Intend to remain a resident of Alaska indefinitely.

Not claim residency in another state or country.

Meet the physical presence requirements set by the state.
