A Mississippi teenager, Le’Andrew Williams, has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for the murder of his mother’s boyfriend, Jimmie Lee Pierce Jr., 49. The shooting occurred in May 2022 when Williams, who was just 15 at the time, shot Pierce while he was sitting outside an apartment complex in Jackson, Mississippi. Williams, along with his cousin and uncle, was arrested in connection to the incident.
The Tragic Incident
According to Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens, Williams was sentenced to 35 years in prison plus five years of post-release supervision after pleading guilty to first-degree murder. The shooting occurred on May 16, 2022, when Williams confronted Pierce after becoming angry with him for his relationship with Williams’ mother.
Williams reportedly discovered explicit text messages between his mother and Pierce, which fueled his anger and led him to plan a confrontation. Initially, Williams intended to rob Pierce at his apartment but later decided to take a more violent approach. He enlisted the help of his 22-year-old cousin, Corey Hodge, and his 27-year-old uncle, Bonny Fields, to carry out the robbery.
The Shooting
On the day of the incident, Williams and Hodge approached Pierce and demanded his wallet. A witness at the scene reported that Pierce responded, “We don’t have anything.” Despite this, Williams shot Pierce twice in the chest. Pierce was rushed to a nearby hospital but ultimately died from his injuries.

Williams, Hodge, and Fields all turned themselves into the police days after the shooting. Williams and Hodge were initially charged with capital murder, while Fields faced a charge of accessory after the fact.
