Fatal Crash on E Lancaster Avenue Leaves 1 Dead and 2 Injured

A tragic crash on E Lancaster Avenue in Fort Worth on Saturday afternoon resulted in one death and two injuries, following a high-speed collision involving two vehicles.

The Incident

Fort Worth police responded to the scene on the 5500 block of E Lancaster Avenue just after 3 p.m., where they found a vehicle that had crashed into a building.

According to the Traffic Investigations Unit, two vehicles were traveling westbound on E Lancaster Avenue at high speeds when one of the drivers lost control. The vehicle hit a bus stop before crashing into the building.

Victims and Injuries

Three people were struck near the bus stop. Two of the victims sustained minor injuries, while the third was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The Investigation and Charges

Both drivers involved in the crash were taken into custody. De’ Tavius Hayes, 24, and Deovion Alexander, 22, have been charged with collision involving death. Additionally, Hayes faces charges related to an out-of-town warrant. The police investigation is still ongoing, and further details are being gathered.
