An investigation is currently underway following a dramatic police chase that spanned from Pasadena to the City of South Houston, ending in a crash and house fire on Monday afternoon.
The Incident
The Pasadena Police Department responded to a theft-in-progress call at a Walmart located at 1107 Shaver Street at around 3:51 p.m. When officers arrived, three suspects attempted to evade capture. Authorities say one suspect was quickly apprehended, while another fled on foot but was later captured as well.
However, the third suspect jumped into a vehicle and led police on a chase. This chase ended when the suspect crashed into a house on Edward Drive, located in the 1200 block. The crash caused the house to catch fire, as seen in video footage shared by onlookers.
Fire and Injuries
The City of South Houston Fire Department received the call about the fire at 4:06 p.m. Fire crews rushed to the scene to battle the flames.
In the aftermath of the crash and fire, one man inside the house was taken to the hospital with an arm injury. Additionally, a firefighter was treated for dehydration and transported to the hospital.
Suspects and Charges
Authorities confirmed that all three suspects involved in the incident are facing charges. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with more details expected as the authorities work to piece together the events of the afternoon.
