A Texas man, Dennis William Day, has been arrested after admitting to the murder of his roommate, Rana Nofal Soluri. The crime involved strangling Soluri and then throwing her body off a bridge.

Day, 66, has been charged with murder in connection with the disappearance of 47-year-old Soluri, who had been missing for several months.

The Disappearance and Investigation

Soluri was reported missing by a concerned co-worker earlier this month after she hadn’t been seen since early March. Soluri, a flight attendant, had taken a leave of absence from her job for minor surgery and was supposed to return by March 31.

However, she never did. The disappearance was strange, especially since she hadn’t missed work in her five years of employment with the airline.

A conversation on March 19 between Soluri and her co-worker abruptly ended, and the co-worker later provided police with a video dated March 19. The video allegedly showed Soluri holding a handgun, and a male voice can be heard off-camera, leading investigators to believe that Day, her roommate, was involved.

Suspicious Findings and Evidence

After Soluri’s disappearance, police began focusing on Day, especially after learning that he had been living with her for about a year. Further investigation revealed some odd details.

For instance, Soluri’s vehicle had been abandoned at Day’s house for about two months, and it appeared that her belongings had been moved into a storage shed. Day was unbothered by her absence, which raised suspicions.

Travel receipts revealed that Soluri hadn’t traveled by plane since October 2024, which was unusual for a flight attendant. Moreover, Day told police that he hadn’t seen her for three months and described her as a longtime friend, despite the strange circumstances surrounding her disappearance.

Surveillance Footage Leads to the Arrest

On June 23, after executing a search warrant, police discovered video surveillance footage that captured Day dragging a “lifeless body” from his home on the night of March 21.

The video footage showed him moving the body into the backyard, and after he realized the camera had recorded, he allegedly disconnected the system.

When confronted with this evidence, Day confessed to the crime. He stated that Soluri had threatened to call the police on him, which caused him to “snap.” He admitted to strangling her on the kitchen floor and later dragging her body outside.

Day then disposed of the body in a trash bin and threw it off a bridge in Bowie, Texas. He also discarded Soluri’s cellphone into a river. Day later provided investigators with the location of Soluri’s gun, which was recovered.

The Search for Soluri’s Remains

Despite Day’s confession and multiple searches of nearby bridges, Soluri’s remains have not yet been found. Police continue to search for her body, but her final resting place remains elusive.

Day is currently being held in the Tarrant County Jail on a $200,000 bond, facing serious charges related to the murder of his roommate. The case has shocked the local community, raising questions about the dark side of domestic relationships and the chilling lengths some individuals will go to hide the truth.

The murder of Rana Nofal Soluri by her roommate, Dennis William Day, has left a grieving community in Texas searching for answers. Though Day has confessed to strangling Soluri and disposing of her body, the location of her remains remains unknown.

This case highlights the tragic reality of domestic violence and the lengths some individuals will go to hide their crimes.
