Lightning strikes cause three house fires in Princeton

Severe storms that passed across North Texas early Monday resulted in three structure fires in Princeton, all sparked by lightning, according to the Princeton Fire Department.

The initial fire was reported at 10:50 a.m. on Wildflower Way, and firefighters rushed as a mutual aid partner to Lowry Crossing, rapidly extinguishing the flames.

At 11:06 a.m., a second fire started on Pebble Brook Lane. The Farmersville, Lucas, and Melissa fire departments responded to the fully involved fire.

Later that morning, a third lightning-related fire broke out within Princeton’s city limits. There were no injuries reported in any of the occurrences.
