Denton police are looking for the motorist in a deadly hit-and-run

The Denton Police Department is asking the public for aid in locating the driver and vehicle involved in a tragic hit-and-run at 12:40 a.m. Monday.

Police responded to the 1900 block of W. University Drive, where they discovered a male who had been struck by a vehicle.

The man was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will reveal the victim’s name.

Witnesses informed police that the driver was male and stopped but then departed after being told he had hit a pedestrian. They described his vehicle as a gray four-door sedan.

Police said the vehicle will have front-end damage, and traffic investigators are attempting to determine the specific make and model.
