SAN ANTONIO— According to SAPD, a three-vehicle crash north of downtown early Tuesday morning killed one guy.

San Antonio police arrived to Highway 281 at Thousand Oaks Drive shortly after 2 a.m. for reports of a four-vehicle crash.

Police said the driver of a 2009 Blue Dodge Ram was speeding when he collided with the back of a 1997 black and grey Ford Ranger, pinning the driver inside. When authorities arrived, the 30-year-old driver of the smaller vehicle had already died. The two trucks collided, pushing the Ford Ranger into the 2021 Silver Ford F-150.

Officers suspect that drinking and the driver’s speed may have contributed to the crash that killed the other driver. Officers did conduct a field sobriety test on that driver, which resulted in his arrest for intoxication manslaughter.

According to police at the scene, no other injuries have been reported.
