CONVERSE, Texas— A guy was found fatally shot in Converse on Tuesday morning after an investigation into an automobile accident.

At before 3 a.m., the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a crash in the 8100 block of Steep Valley, near Old Seguin Road.

Sheriff’s deputies say the homeowner claimed that the driver seemed to be hurt inside his vehicle. When deputies got on the scene, they discovered the victim, who was believed to be in their late teens or early 20s, dead with several gunshot wounds to the upper body on the left.

“Where the shooting occurred was a couple houses down from where the crash occurred,” said Johnny Garcia, a BCSO representative. “The suspect took off at tremendous speed. “We could see some skid marks on the road.”

Deputies discovered a firearm at the actual crime site, which was a few houses away from the crash.

Deputies say the vehicle the victim was driving was reported stolen. A search warrant is being handled at the home where the crime scene was found.

Deputies say they have detained numerous persons for questioning in connection with the incident.

Investigators believe the victim and the suspect may have had a previous quarrel, potentially on social media.
