A Florida man is facing serious charges after allegedly threatening to detonate bombs on causeways across the state and claiming to be part of a gang and cartel. Authorities say 46-year-old Floyd Bradley Jr. made a chilling 911 call in which he bragged about killing people, including children and pets, “for a living.”
The Threatening 911 Call
According to a probable cause affidavit, Melbourne police received a disturbing call around 9 p.m. on Thursday. On the line, Bradley allegedly claimed he had been gathering bomb-making materials and placed an explosive near a causeway in Melbourne, an area surrounded by bars and restaurants.
During the call, he allegedly stated:
“I generally blow up causeways.”
He targets causeways in Orlando, Casselberry, and Tampa.
He shoots people driving over them.
Bradley also told dispatchers he was a member of the Bloods gang, cartels, and mobs, and boasted about owning several guns, including an AK-47.
A Familiar Face to Police
This wasn’t Bradley’s first run-in with law enforcement. Officers say he has called 911 around 45 times in just the past six months. When they arrived on the scene Thursday, they immediately recognized him.
Police noted that he smelled strongly of alcohol and had an open can of Bud Ice sitting next to him on a bench.
Confrontation With Officers
When officers tried to take him into custody, Bradley allegedly resisted arrest and shouted, “I’m gonna kill all of you.”
Despite the outburst, police managed to subdue him and place him under arrest without further violence.
Charges and Court Date
Bradley is now facing multiple charges, including:
Making a false report of a bomb
Assault on a law enforcement officer
Resisting arrest
He is being held in the Brevard County Jail without bond and has been assigned a public defender. His next court appearance is scheduled for October 9.
The case of Floyd Bradley Jr. highlights the dangers and disruption caused by false threats, especially when paired with violent rhetoric and a history of troubling behavior. While investigators have not found evidence of actual explosives, Bradley’s repeated 911 calls and threats have put strain on local law enforcement.
With his court date approaching, the community will be watching to see how the justice system handles a man who has openly claimed to “kill for a living.”
