A shocking incident has left Pearland residents in disbelief after a teenage boy was taken into custody for allegedly killing his father inside their home. The case has drawn serious attention as the boy, only 16 years old, now faces severe criminal charges.
Teen Charged with Serious Offences
According to police reports, the teenager has been charged with two offences:
Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon
Aggravated assault of a family member
Authorities confirmed that the boy is the son of the victim. He is currently being held at the Brazoria County Juvenile Detention Center while the case is under investigation.
Police Discover the Body
Officers from Pearland Police Department were dispatched to a house in the 9000 block of Sundown Drive after receiving a call about a possible death. On arrival, they found the body of a man in one of the bedrooms.
The victim was identified as 43-year-old Willie Washington. Police said he had multiple stab wounds and was declared dead at the scene.
Victim’s Truck Reported Missing
During their investigation, officers noticed that the victim’s truck was not at the house. They immediately began searching for the vehicle.
Using a Flock License Plate Reader, police successfully tracked the missing truck.
Pursuit Ends in Crash
When officers attempted to stop the truck, the teenage driver refused to pull over and tried to escape. This led to a high-speed police chase that ended in a crash near Almeda and the 610 South Loop.
The teen was taken into custody immediately after the crash.
