A Texas woman, Emily LaVelle, has been arrested after allegedly stabbing two women in her apartment complex, the Tennyson Arms apartments in Waco, Texas, on June 7.

The 29-year-old is facing serious charges after the violent incident, which occurred following a previous altercation with one of the victims earlier in the day. LaVelle was later released on bail and is awaiting her next court appearance.

The Stabbing Incident

Police responded to the Tennyson Arms apartments late on June 7 after receiving reports of a woman with a knife who had just stabbed someone. Upon arrival, officers spoke with two women who claimed LaVelle had attacked them. One woman had a serious stab wound near her collarbone, close to her throat.

The injured woman explained that LaVelle had come toward her and a group of people while holding a knife. She then allegedly stabbed another woman in the group before being restrained by witnesses.

Witnesses reported that they were able to hold LaVelle down until moments before the police arrived. At that point, LaVelle fled back to her apartment. Police then identified LaVelle as the suspect based on the victims’ and witnesses’ statements. She was apprehended shortly afterward.

LaVelle’s Statements and Prior Altercation

After her arrest, LaVelle was taken to a hospital for a medical evaluation. According to an arrest affidavit, LaVelle told police that she had been involved in a “mutual combat physical altercation” with one of the women she allegedly stabbed earlier that day, roughly an hour before the stabbing incident. She claimed she put a knife in her pocket after that altercation.

LaVelle then explained to police that, after the first fight, she saw the woman again, possibly on the phone calling the police. LaVelle returned to her apartment and told police she no longer had the knife, which contradicted her earlier statements.

When asked what was going through her mind when she saw the alleged victim again, LaVelle reportedly responded, “Do or die,” adding that she was prepared to defend herself and would “do anything.” When asked what she would have done if she had a knife, LaVelle allegedly said, “I would have killed that b—.”

Charges and Legal Proceedings

LaVelle has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. After her arrest, she was booked into the McLennan County Jail but was later released on bond on June 8. The motive behind the altercations has not been made clear, and it is still unknown why LaVelle attacked the two women. As of now, her next court date has not been confirmed.

The violent encounter in Waco, Texas, has left two women injured and a community shocked. Emily LaVelle’s actions, along with her statements to police, paint a troubling picture of the events leading up to the stabbing.

As LaVelle awaits her court date, the case highlights the consequences of escalating conflicts and the use of weapons in moments of anger. The charges against her are serious, and she faces potential prison time if convicted.
