The city is considering a new location for the Murphy Veterans Tribute (MVT), possibly as part of the City Hall complex.
at August 2017, the Murphy City Council set aside up to a half-acre near to the amphitheater at Central Park for the tribute. However, finance for the project languished, and City Manager Aretha Adams announced in June that the original location would no longer be available.
Veterans and MVT board members wanted an open discussion about the proposal, which Adams brought up at the council meeting on Tuesday, September 16.
