Landis Durham, a defensive end/linebacker/running back, was inducted into the Plano East Football Hall of Fame last Friday during a ceremony held at the end of the first quarter of the Panthers’ home game against Plano West.
“It’s pretty surreal,” Durham explained. “I received a notification from (Coach) Roy Woods. It’s kind of weird since last year, coach (Nate) Collins asked me for a picture, which was then hung on the wall. My dad was also present that day.
This season, I received another note from Coach Woods, informing me that they would like to formally induct me into the Hall of Fame. I’m grateful for the recognition, but it’s about something bigger than me. They need to induct more guys. There are so many deserving names that should be inducted. It really is an honor.”
