Tyler ISD is pleased to announce that Viviana Llamas, a Three Lakes Middle School student, has been named a finalist in The Bryan Museum of Galveston’s 2025 I Am Texas Writing and Art Contest. Viviana’s artwork, Paton, won her recognition as one of Texas’ top student writers and artists.

Finalists are also invited to a special I Am Texas Reception at the Museum on November 23, when the contest winners will be announced.

“Having Vivian named as a finalist is a huge honor for her and Tyler ISD Visual and Performing Arts,” said Luke Dean, Director of Visual and Performing Arts. “In this statewide event, she is the sole East Texas art finalist.

I’m particularly grateful for the support and assistance she received from Nicole Moody, her art teacher at Three Lakes Middle School.”

The I Am Texas contest began in 2022, when the Bryan Museum and the iWrite literacy initiative cooperated to print the world’s largest book, featuring the work of 1,000 Texas kids.

Since then, the event has evolved year after year, allowing children in grades 2 through 12 to contribute their unique ideas through writing and art while earning scholarships and publication awards.
