League City will have a free tree giveaway on October 2 as part of its quest to keep its “Tree City USA” designation.

According to a League City statement, Trees for Houston has distributed a limited quantity of saplings to residents on a first-come, first-served basis.

The event will take place at 600 West Walker Street between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m., or until supplies run out.

A total of 200 trees will be accessible, with a maximum of one tree per household.

Trees will be delivered in three-gallon containers, and participants must arrange their own transportation.

The location is situated across from the League City Police Department.

The Live Oak, Eastern Redbud, Mexican Red Oak, Southern Magnolia, and Shumard Oak trees range in size from 3 to 6 feet. League City’s official website provides additional information on the event.
