A Denison man is being held in Grayson County Jail on charges of intoxication manslaughter in connection with a tragic incident.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety troopers, Joshua Connel, 38, was detained Friday on a felony charge of drunken manslaughter with a vehicle.
The crash occurred early on September 7, near the 1700 block of FM 120.
According to troopers, Connel’s pickup vehicle drove off FM 120, collided with various items, and overturned after hitting a concrete culvert.
Connel was brought to Texoma Medical Center for treatment of his injuries, while his passenger, Patricia Cross, 42, was ejected from the truck and transported to TMC with life-threatening injuries. Cross died two days later from her injuries.
Troopers allege that Connel was inebriated at the time of the crash.
