Friday was a wonderful day for Sherman’s Texoma Christian School. The Lady Eagles Track and Field team received their State Championship rings for the 24-25 academic year.
In addition to this achievement, the boys basketball team earned a state championship, assisting the Eagles in capturing the 1A Henderson Cup.
The squad couldn’t be happier to share their accomplishments with their school community.
“It’s awesome to have the support of our school, the support of my teammates, and to get this awesome ring,” says 1600 and 3200 meter state winner Hannah Murphy. “We didn’t get this ring, it was all the Lord’s doing.”
“It was so exciting because I’ve never been a part of a State Championship like this,” says Rachel Graves, the 100-meter state champion. “Getting a ring and being able to celebrate with my friends and my coaches was amazing.”
“To celebrate their achievements, their hard work, their team work, their commitment to their school work on and off the track, and the effort they gave at the regional and the state meet was just second to none,” Clint Scribner, TCS Track and Field head coach, says.
