Residents in Coppell and visitors to the Coppell Justice Center can breathe a sigh of relief now that the recent gas leak issue has been contained and addressed. The Coppell Police Department confirmed on its Facebook page that the previously reported gas leak at the Justice Center had been resolved.
As a result, the Records Office and Municipal Court, which had been closed due to the event, would resume regular operations the following day.
Last Thursday, the Coppell Police Department’s social media post informed the community that the gas leak had been successfully contained, and there was no immediate threat to the public.
However, in order to allow for repairs and to safeguard the safety of employees and the public, certain offices were forced to close quickly.
“The gas leak has been fixed,” the department reported, adding that the closure of the Records Office and Municipal Court would last “through the rest of the day.”
Concerns were raised about the Coppell Justice Center site after a gas leak was discovered. The Coppell Police Department acquired a statement confirming that the leak was entirely limited to the Justice Center. Given the dangers that such disclosures could cause, this knowledge was critical in preventing widespread panic.
