Plano ISD will hold community information sessions to provide updates and solicit feedback on the future of Davis Elementary, Forman Elementary, and Armstrong Middle Schools.

The district will host these meetings on:

Information Sessions Schedule

Tuesday, September 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Haggard Middle School. Friday, September 27, from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at Memorial Elementary School. Saturday, October 4, 9-11 a.m. at Haggard Middle School.

Tuesday, October 8, 6-8 p.m. at Otto Middle School. Saturday, October 11, 9-11 a.m. at Meadows Elementary School. Thursday, October 16, 6-8 p.m. at Haggard Middle School.

Due to low enrollment and outdated infrastructure, Plano ISD opted to close four schools: Davis Elementary, Forman Elementary, Armstrong Middle School, and Carpenter Middle School.

Between fall 2023 and spring 2024, the district sponsored six districtwide community meetings, staff meetings, and presentations on each PISD school campus to allow community members to provide feedback.

Beginning with the 2025-26 school year, students and teachers from Davis, Forman, Armstrong, and Carpenter were relocated to other Plano schools. The city of Plano is currently purchasing three of the school properties to influence their future development.

The city is purchasing Davis Elementary, Forman Elementary, and Armstrong Middle School properties from Plano ISD, with the sale set to close in November.

Plano ISD is maintaining the Carpenter Middle School site for future educational purposes. Once the city has completed the purchase of the three school properties, they will be renovated in ways that benefit the community.

Davis Elementary School’s land at 2701 Parkhaven Drive is designated for single-family dwellings. Once the school building is dismantled and the transaction is completed, the city intends to resell the property for redevelopment into single-family dwellings that are commensurate with the surrounding area.

The goal is to maintain the neighborhood’s charm, therefore the city will solicit community comment on housing density.

The Forman Elementary School land at 3600 Timberline Drive will be used to relocate Fire Station 3 to better serve the local community. During the 2025 bond vote, residents approved the public safety facilities package, which included the acquisition of land and design of the new Fire Station 3.

Once the purchase is completed, the city will begin designing the future station and determining the best use of any remaining site based on community feedback.

Armstrong Middle School’s site at 3805 Timberline Drive is also designated for single-family homes.

Like Davis Elementary, once the school building is demolished and the sale is completed, the city intends to resell the property for redevelopment into single-family homes consistent with the surrounding region, while preserving the neighborhood’s identity through community feedback on housing density.
