On September 11, Galveston police responded to a home in the 5100 block of Avenue Q after receiving a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found Tiamoya Moore, 34, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was rushed to the UTMB emergency room but later pronounced dead.
Witnesses’ Account
Witnesses at the scene provided information suggesting the shooter might be Moore’s 16-year-old daughter, who was not present when police arrived. Investigators continued processing the crime scene while the teen returned home.
Teen Arrested
Upon her return, the 16-year-old girl was taken into custody without incident. A firearm was recovered at the scene, and the investigation into the shooting is still ongoing.
Juvenile Detention
The teen is currently being held at the Jerry J. Esmond Juvenile Justice Center as authorities continue their investigation.
