A tense road rage encounter in Pasadena has landed a man behind bars. On Sunday, 38-year-old Michael Lecroy appeared before a magistrate to face charges after being accused of following another driver and firing multiple shots at him.
What Happened on Sept. 5
According to Pasadena police, the incident began when the victim admitted to accidentally cutting off Lecroy near Allen Genoa and Spencer Highway. Investigators say Lecroy reacted aggressively, trailing the victim for nearly a mile while firing at him.
The magistrate stated, “It’s alleged that the defendant shot 13 bullets at the complaining witness.”
One bullet grazed the victim’s back. Fortunately, the injury was not life-threatening, and the victim refused to be taken to the hospital.
Arrest and Charges
After the shooting, Lecroy fled but was later arrested at an apartment complex. He now faces charges of:
Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon
Possession of a controlled substance
Court records reveal Lecroy has a criminal history involving assault and drug possession, dating back to 2004.
Bond and Current Status
On Sunday, Lecroy’s bond was set at $42,500. He remains in jail at this time.
What began as a simple traffic mistake escalated into a dangerous shooting, showing how quickly road rage can spiral out of control. Authorities stress the importance of staying calm on the road — one moment of anger could lead to life-changing consequences for both the victim and the aggressor.
