The shocking assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk has shaken the entire nation. Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA, was shot dead by a sniper while addressing students at Utah Valley University.
After a tense two-day investigation, police confirmed the arrest of 22-year-old Tyler Robinson from Washington County, Utah.
How the Arrest Happened
On the evening of September 11, Robinson’s family member reportedly shared his confession with a friend, who then contacted authorities. Investigators arrested him the same night. Governor Spencer J. Cox confirmed the news with a simple but powerful statement: “We got him.”

Police later discovered a Mauser bolt action .30-06 rifle wrapped in a towel near the UVU campus. The rifle was fitted with a long-range scope and contained one spent shell casing.
Disturbingly, the casing and others found nearby had strange engravings, including meme references, anti-fascist messages, and even lyrics from the famous protest song “Bella Ciao.”
Evidence from Social Media and Messages
According to Governor Cox, some of these engravings matched what Robinson had allegedly told his roommate in Discord messages. Witnesses captured the attack on video, and while many clips went viral, social media platforms quickly removed them for graphic content and concerns of glorifying violence.

Robinson was not a UVU student and lived over 260 miles away in Washington County. Family members revealed he had recently become more political and had shown unusual behavior. He is expected to face charges of aggravated murder, obstruction of justice, and felony firearm use.
