A shocking bar fight in Orlando has left one man hospitalized and another behind bars. A bartender, described as aggressive and short-tempered, allegedly stabbed a customer multiple times during an argument over a bar tab and crude insults.
What Happened at Grumpy’s Underground Bar?
The incident took place on August 31 at Grumpy’s Underground, a bar located in Orlando, Florida. According to police, Jason Wilfredo Rosario, 30, was working as a bartender when he got into a heated argument with a customer over being charged for drinks he didn’t receive.
The bar’s manager tried to fix the billing issue, but Rosario reportedly continued harassing the customer with foul language, repeatedly shouting, “you can suck a d—.” Things escalated when Rosario made an offensive remark about the customer’s late mother.
From Words to Violence: The Stabbing Incident
Rosario allegedly told the customer they should “take it outside.” Once outside, the fight turned physical. The customer threw a punch after Rosario again insulted his mother. Both men fell to the ground, and that’s when Rosario allegedly pulled out a knife and began stabbing the victim.
According to the arrest affidavit, Rosario shouted “I got him” during the attack.
When the police arrived, they discovered the victim had been stabbed 10 times:
7 wounds on the left side of his back
3 wounds on his head
The victim didn’t even realise he had been stabbed until others noticed the blood and called for help. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Witnesses and Police Investigation
A woman near the scene flagged down police after seeing blood on her hands, which she got while trying to help. She told them she heard the fight in the alley but didn’t realise the extent of it until later.
The bar’s owner also spoke with the officers and identified Rosario as the suspect, saying he had only worked three shifts and was known by the nickname “Joc Hip Hop.” She described him as “hotheaded” and was already planning to fire him due to his behaviour.
While police were still at the scene, Rosario called the bar owner. An officer answered the call and instructed him to return to the bar. An arrest warrant was quickly issued, and Rosario was taken into custody on Friday.
Current Legal Status and What’s Next
Jason Rosario is currently held in Orange County Jail with no bond. He is facing a charge of attempted second-degree murder. His next court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday.
Authorities have not released any statements about Rosario’s legal representation or possible additional charges.
What started as a simple dispute over a bar tab turned into a violent stabbing incident that could have ended in tragedy. This case shows how quickly things can spiral out of control when tempers flare and weapons are involved.
With Rosario now in custody, the focus shifts to the legal proceedings as the victim recovers from his injuries and the bar tries to move forward from the shocking incident.
