The Pasadena Police Department has reached a standstill in their search for a man accused of groping a jogger at Holly Bay Park on August 14.
The incident occurred around 7:20 PM when the woman was running on the park’s jogging trails, a popular route for locals due to its connection to a wider trail network on the east side of Pasadena.
Description of the Suspect
The suspect is described as a young Hispanic man, aged between 20 and 25 years old, wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts at the time of the attack. Although the assault did not result in any physical injuries to the victim, the quick-thinking jogger was able to capture a video of the suspect as he fled the scene.
Assistant Police Chief Raul Granados praised the victim’s response: “After she was groped, she was able to get her phone and record as the suspect was getting away. He turned around and looked at the phone and kept on running.”
Investigating the Case
The Pasadena Police Department has been working to gather evidence, including video surveillance and eyewitness accounts, to identify the suspect. Despite having the video footage, police have struggled to make progress in the case, which is why they waited three weeks before releasing the video publicly.
Granados explained, “Our investigators were trying to get as much evidence as they could find… trying to find additional information in the area.”
No Link to Recent Incidents
Police have stated they do not believe this incident is connected to a series of similar attacks in the Houston area in recent weeks. Authorities continue to ask the public for any tips or information that could help them identify the suspect.
