A well-known content creator from Pennsylvania, who goes by the name “Drew Disaster” online, has been charged with multiple serious crimes after allegedly setting her house on fire in an apparent attempt to end her life.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours of August 27, and it has left many followers and local residents shocked.
Disturbing Posts Before the Fire
According to police and court records, Drew Mehalick-Headley posted several emotional and concerning messages on her Facebook and Instagram accounts hours before the fire.
In a Facebook post at 8:00 p.m., she wrote:
“I’m sorry if it feels all for naught with how this has ended. It meant so much to me but I have come to accept the reality that my hurt is too much to carry.”
She also described herself as a “destructive force” and expressed a deep sense of emotional pain.
On Instagram, she reportedly wrote:
“I’m sorry. The pain has just become too heavy to bear. This is all I wanted. I’m glad that I got it. With love, Drew.”
Another post showed her petting her two cats, apologizing to them, and saying:
“Please cremate me or bury me in the shroud. I love you all, I truly do.”
These messages raised serious alarm among her followers and prompted several tips to the Middletown Borough Police Department.
Rescued from the Blaze
Authorities said that the fire started at approximately 4:39 a.m. on August 27. First responders arrived at the scene around 6:30 a.m., where they found Mehalick-Headley inside the burning home.
She was successfully rescued, along with one of her two cats. Sadly, the second cat did not survive the fire.
Admission and Charges
According to court documents, Mehalick-Headley admitted to setting the fire herself. Investigators believe the act was a suicide attempt based on her social media posts and her statements at the scene.
