What began as a planned meeting through a dating app turned into a violent and shocking incident at a Florida hotel. Police say a man ran over a woman with his car after she refused his unusual request.
The Hotel Encounter
On August 24, 28-year-old Elmoncy Sercle met a woman at the Serena Hotel in Aventura after connecting with her on the dating app Seeking. According to police records, once inside the room, Sercle allegedly asked to smell her feet and purchase her used sneakers.
The woman, who says she is a foot model, told him that her fee was $1,000. She also mentioned the sneakers were in her car and excused herself. Moments later, she noticed Sercle rushing out of the hotel room, which made her believe he might have stolen from her.
The Parking Garage Attack
When she followed him to the parking garage, she saw him in a red Mercedes SUV. Sercle allegedly stopped, turned the vehicle around, and then drove directly into her.
The impact left the woman with bruises and road rash on her arms, chest, and back that required immediate medical treatment. Police say Sercle fled the scene but was later arrested on an aggravated battery charge.
Victim Speaks Out
In an interview with WPLG, the woman described the encounter as “extremely bizarre.” She explained that while she has met people with foot fetishes before, none had ever acted violently.
“When I got there, he just wanted to sniff my feet and I didn’t feel comfortable with that,” she said. “You could have my sneakers all you want. They’re just stinky old sneakers. But people like weird things.”
Despite the frightening ordeal, she expressed gratitude for surviving, saying, “By the grace of God, I’m still standing today.”
Suspect’s Criminal History
Court records show this is not Sercle’s first run-in with the law. Police say he has several open cases in Miami-Dade County involving similar schemes—meeting women through dating apps, luring them to hotels, and then robbing them.
Sercle has since bonded out of jail and is scheduled to appear in court on September 29.
