Follow Us

League City is wrapping up summer with a special treat for families. Thanks to an anonymous act of kindness, children aged 16 and under can enjoy free access to city pools during Labor Day weekend, from August 30 through September 1.

It’s the perfect way for kids to soak up the last days of summer before heading back to school.

Free Fun for Families

Parents don’t have to worry about pool fees this holiday weekend. Both Hometown Heroes Park Pool and Walker Street Pool are opening their doors for free entry, making it easier for families to enjoy quality time together.

Pool Schedules and Activities

Hometown Heroes Pool

Saturday & Sunday: 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Monday (Labor Day): 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Special Feature: On Monday, kids can try out a fast-track obstacle course in the pool for extra fun.

Walker Street Pool

Open all weekend from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Longer hours give kids plenty of time to splash, swim, and enjoy the summer heat.

A Community Gesture

This generous gesture highlights League City’s dedication to family-friendly recreation. Whether it’s relaxing swims, exciting dives, or tackling the obstacle course, kids have the chance to create lasting summer memories — all without costing their parents a rupee.

League City’s free pool weekend is more than just a chance to swim — it’s a celebration of community, kindness, and the joy of childhood. As summer winds down, this initiative gives families one last splash of fun before school starts again.
