Kirbyville, TX — A Texas woman has been arrested after allegedly holding a gun on a man she accused of being an illegal immigrant trespassing on her property and claiming to be a police officer.
Woman Accused of Terroristic Threats and Impersonating an Officer
Alishia Blevins, 58, was taken into custody on charges of making a terroristic threat after the incident in Kirbyville, Texas. According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, Blevins confronted a man on a county road, accusing him of trespassing on her property and being an illegal immigrant.
Threat and False Claims to Victim
The man told deputies that Blevins pulled a handgun on him, forced him to get out of his vehicle, and demanded his proof of insurance, name, cellphone, and keys. Blevins allegedly called the man’s wife, claiming to be a police officer, which she was not.
In addition, Blevins reportedly claimed her German shepherd was a K-9 officer with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies also stated that Blevins put her dog in the man’s vehicle and threatened it would attack if he tried to leave.
Victim’s Legal Status and Investigation
After investigating, deputies determined that the man was legally on a public road and had not trespassed on Blevins’ property. While the trespassing claim was dismissed, immigration authorities were contacted to verify the man’s status, as Blevins had accused him of being an illegal immigrant.
Blevins was arrested and booked into the Jasper County Jail, where she could face additional charges of impersonating a peace officer. The sheriff’s office also stated that they would follow federal statutes in regards to the victim’s immigration status.
