Pensacola, FL — Darryl Walker, 38, is set to go on trial next week for the murder of his wife, Sheena Marie Levine, 35, whose death remains shrouded in mystery. Walker is facing charges of second-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a deadly weapon following the tragic events on November 22, 2023.
Fatal Incident Unfolds Just Before Thanksgiving
Levine died in the early morning hours of November 22 at the couple’s apartment in the Aqua Porta complex in Pensacola.
According to police reports, Walker called his daughter in a panic around 5 a.m., telling her he had “f–ed up” and repeatedly claiming that his wife “grabbed the gun.” However, the details surrounding Levine’s death remain unclear.
Disturbing Phone Call and Family Discovery
The daughter, alarmed by the phone call, woke her younger brother, and the two rushed to the apartment. Upon arrival, they knocked on the door until their father let them inside.
Inside, the daughter found her mother lying by the bathroom door, covered in blood and without a pulse. Walker, also covered in blood, was reportedly silent when asked why he hadn’t called 911.
The daughter told investigators that Walker retrieved the gun from near Levine’s body before saying, “Baby, I gotta go. I can’t go back to jail.” Before leaving, he allegedly made a statement that left investigators more suspicious of his involvement.
Evidence and Investigation
The daughter found a shell casing in the bathroom and immediately called 911. Levine was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities launched a multi-agency manhunt for Walker, who was arrested two days later in Panama City, about 140 miles east of Pensacola.
Walker’s Criminal History
Walker has a criminal history, including serving four years in prison for child neglect and weapons charges, and a previous sentence for aggravated battery against a pregnant woman. He was released in May 2022, less than two years before his wife’s death.
