A Florida woman has been arrested after allegedly pouring acid onto a man while he was lying in bed in what police described as a domestic and premeditated attack.
Woman Charged With Attempted Murder
Authorities identified the suspect as 50-year-old Chuanying He. She has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated battery, according to the New Port Richey Police Department.
She was booked into the Pasco County Jail following the violent incident.
Attack Described as “Premeditated”
Police say He intentionally poured acid on the victim while he was in bed inside a home on Slippery Rock Road in New Port Richey. Investigators believe the act was planned in advance.
After the attack, officers say He barricaded the bedroom door and then called 911 to report the incident herself.
Victim in Critical Condition
When officers arrived at around 5 p.m. Thursday, they found a man suffering from severe chemical burns. He was immediately airlifted to Tampa General Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Authorities have not released the victim’s identity or clarified his relationship to the suspect but confirmed it was a domestic case and that no one else was at risk.
Police Response
Investigators emphasized that all evidence so far points to the attack being isolated and premeditated. He was arrested without further incident.
New Port Richey, where the crime occurred, is a small city in the Tampa Bay area on Florida’s west coast.
This disturbing case highlights the shocking extremes of domestic violence. A man is now fighting for his life after suffering severe chemical burns, while the suspect faces life-altering charges.
Authorities continue to investigate the motive behind the attack, but the evidence already suggests it was deliberate and planned.
