He also mentioned that this particular section had already been repaired last year, showing how heat can still overpower man-made fixes.
Looking ahead, TxDOT will return next month to remove and replace a larger section of concrete and rebar from the damaged area. This will help strengthen the road and prevent similar issues in the future.
