Boise, Idaho – A late-summer heatwave is setting in across the Treasure Valley, with triple-digit temperatures expected by Saturday. The National Weather Service is warning that hot, dry conditions will dominate Boise and surrounding cities through the weekend, pushing daily highs into the upper 90s and near 100 degrees.

Intense Heat Through the Weekend

According to the National Weather Service in Boise, the heat will gradually intensify over the next few days. Wednesday and Thursday will see highs in the mid-90s, but by Friday and Saturday, the heat will peak.

Saturday’s high is forecast to reach 100°F in Boise, Meridian, and Nampa, with little relief expected at night as lows stay in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Risks of Heat-Related Illnesses

The prolonged heat raises concerns about heat-related illnesses, particularly for those working or exercising outdoors. Health officials recommend limiting strenuous activity during peak afternoon hours, staying hydrated, and checking on vulnerable neighbors, especially those without air conditioning.

Drivers are reminded never to leave children or pets in parked vehicles, even briefly.

Slight Cool Down Sunday

A slight cool down is expected on Sunday, with highs dropping into the upper 90s before dipping into the low 90s by Monday. However, forecasters caution that heat remains a concern across southwest Idaho through early next week.
