Raymona Ford, a 24-year-old Florida mother, has been arrested on charges of murder and child cruelty following the drowning death of her 2-year-old son, O’Rhyan Moore.

The incident occurred on May 9 at the Magnolia Terrace Apartments in Tallahassee, where the child was found unresponsive in the bathtub. Despite life-saving efforts, the child died four days later from injuries sustained in the drowning.

Investigation and Allegations of Foul Play

A detailed investigation revealed that the child had been struck multiple times by Ford before being left unattended in the bathtub, leading to a drowning incident.

According to police, the injuries were inflicted by Ford in a fit of anger, and an autopsy confirmed that trauma to the head and neck likely caused seizures before the child was submerged in the water.

Previous Incident and Additional Evidence

The investigation also uncovered that Ford had allowed her son to suffer another drowning incident in 2023 when he was just 11 months old. Ford allegedly confessed to striking the child in anger due to his behavior and the mess he made.

The police also found that Ford had asked the child’s father to watch him so she could celebrate her birthday, further suggesting possible motivations tied to anger and frustration.

Court Appearance and Denial of Bond

Ford was arrested after an extensive investigation, and she appeared in court on Thursday, where her bond was denied. She is currently being held at the Leon County Detention Center. The case has drawn attention due to the tragic nature of the death and the disturbing details uncovered during the investigation.
