A 65-year-old man from Natrona Heights, Jeffrey Glowatski, is facing DUI charges after allegedly killing 11-year-old Roxanne Bonnoni in a tragic crash last August.

According to police reports, Glowatski, who had consumed 12 beers over several hours, struck the hearing-impaired girl while she was playing outside her home in Harrison Township.

Timeline of Events

Glowatski began drinking at around 2:45 p.m. and continued until approximately 7:15 p.m. when he left Boots Bar. Just minutes after leaving the bar, he allegedly drove his Jeep Patriot and hit Roxanne as she crossed the street.

Police say Glowatski’s blood alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit at 0.153%. Witnesses to the crash approached Glowatski, asking him to turn off the car and not leave.

Family’s Heartbreak and the Aftermath

Roxanne’s father, Anthony Csizmadia, witnessed the accident and rushed to his daughter’s side, but tragically, nothing could be done to save her. The family, who had been looking forward to Roxanne starting school at the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf, is devastated by the loss.

Legal Developments and Charges

While Glowatski has been charged with DUI and careless driving, he has not yet been charged directly for Roxanne’s death. Her family, however, is finding some solace in the efforts of the District Attorney’s Office as they await further developments.
