Pearland, TX – Two young men from Houston have been arrested by the Pearland Police Department in connection with several car burglary cases reported between July 27 and August 4. The incidents happened in two residential areas – Southern Trails and Shadow Creek Ranch.

How the Suspects Were Caught

Thanks to a combination of home surveillance video and the department’s Flock Safety License Plate Recognition (LPR) system, police were able to track down a suspicious vehicle linked to the crimes.

On August 4, the system triggered an alert, and officers quickly acted. They stopped the vehicle and arrested the two people inside: Jabari Demas, aged 20, and Jayvion Bickham, aged 19. Both are residents of Houston.

What Police Found During the Traffic Stop

During the search, officers discovered burglary tools as well as stolen debit and credit cards. These cards belonged to victims whose vehicles had been broken into during the recent burglaries.

The police confirmed that both men have been officially charged, though more charges may be added as the investigation continues.

Ongoing Investigation and Public Help Needed

The Pearland Police Department is still investigating and is encouraging anyone with extra information to call their Criminal Investigation Tip Line at 281-997-4211. They are working hard to connect any other unsolved cases to these suspects if possible.

Police Remind Residents to Stay Alert

To avoid similar incidents in the future, police are asking residents to remove all valuables from their cars, lock all doors and windows, and double-check their vehicles before going to sleep. These simple steps can go a long way in preventing theft.

The arrests of these two young suspects show how technology and community surveillance can help law enforcement solve crimes quickly.

The Pearland Police are doing their part to keep neighborhoods safe, but they also ask for residents’ cooperation to prevent car break-ins. Keeping vehicles locked and empty of valuables is a small but effective way to avoid becoming a target for thieves.
