A tragic incident took place early Wednesday morning in Galveston County, where a man lost his life after a fight turned deadly inside a local grocery store. The suspect was arrested on the spot, and police are continuing their investigation.
What Happened at the Meera Food n Meat Supermarket?
According to the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting occurred around 1:30 a.m. inside the Meera Food n Meat Supermarket on Grand Avenue in Bacliff, Texas.
Chief Deputy Melencio Villarreal explained that it all began as a verbal argument between two men. However, the situation quickly became physical. During the fight, one of the men pulled out a gun and shot the other in the chest.
Quick Police Response
Deputies responded quickly to the scene as there is a police substation nearby. When they arrived, they found the injured man inside the store. Sadly, he could not survive his injuries and died from the gunshot wound.
Villarreal confirmed that the entire incident happened inside the store, and there were two other shoppers present at the time. Luckily, the bystanders were not harmed.
