A young Missouri man is facing serious criminal charges after allegedly shooting and killing his pregnant estranged wife just hours after receiving a message on Facebook that reportedly made him angry. The tragic shooting resulted in the deaths of both the mother and the unborn baby.
What Led to the Tragedy?
Police say 25-year-old Sidney Wilson V was charging his Tesla at Wally’s convenience store in Fenton, Missouri, on June 5, 2025, when he received a message through Facebook.
The message told him to stay away from his estranged wife, 21-year-old Reagan Wilson. According to investigators, the message upset him and led him to commit the fatal act just five hours later.
Fatal Shooting at Lebanon Home
Authorities responded to a shooting report at 11:37 p.m. at a home in the 700 block of North Adams Avenue in Lebanon. When they arrived, they found Reagan Wilson critically injured inside. She was rushed to the hospital where doctors delivered her baby boy, Silas, who initially survived the incident.
Tragically, baby Silas died eight days later, on June 13.
Investigation Details and Confession
Sidney Wilson allegedly fled the scene after the shooting but later appeared at the hospital where his son was being treated. However, police said he never asked about the investigation or showed concern for Reagan or the baby. Instead, he only asked about getting his car back.
According to a probable cause statement, Wilson admitted that his relationship with Reagan had been “strained” since she left him in December 2024. Police say Wilson had also made a disturbing statement in the past, suggesting that “it would be easier” if someone — name redacted — were dead.
Wilson confessed to owning a gun that matched the weapon used in the shooting but claimed he sold it to a random person at a restaurant. However, surveillance footage shows that he was alone and never spoke to anyone except staff, casting doubt on his story.
Charges and Legal Status
Sidney Wilson has been charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. He is currently being held at the Laclede County Jail without bond and was scheduled for arraignment on Monday.
Family Reacts to Arrest
Reagan’s heartbroken family says they are relieved that Wilson is finally in custody. Her mother, Sarah Ice, told local news outlet Ozarks First, “Our kids are struggling and terrified to go outside at night. Their sister was just taken for no reason.” Reagan’s stepfather, Jeff Ice, added, “We’re thankful we can start getting some closure.”
The deaths of Reagan Wilson and her unborn child Silas have left a community shaken and a family devastated. As the legal process moves forward, Reagan’s loved ones are hoping for justice and healing. This case is also a grim reminder of how domestic disputes can quickly turn deadly, especially when warning signs are ignored.
