In a terrifying case from Houston, Texas, a man has been arrested after allegedly trying to kill his ex-girlfriend’s four children. Two of the kids were shot and seriously injured, while the others narrowly escaped. Authorities say the man even warned the mother that he would harm the children if she didn’t return home.

Man Allegedly Threatens to Kill Children

The accused, Willie Simpson III, a 32-year-old man, is now facing multiple serious charges after the shocking incident. According to police, he went to the Timber Creek apartment complex on the night of July 27, where his ex-girlfriend’s teenage sons, aged 16 and 19, were outside.

When the 16-year-old told him that their mother was not home, Simpson called the woman on the phone and allegedly threatened to shoot her children if she didn’t come back immediately.

Gunfire Erupts As Boys Try to Escape

After ending the phone call, Simpson reportedly warned the boys not to go back inside the apartment. When they tried to run away, he opened fire. The 19-year-old was hit in the abdomen but didn’t realise it until he reached inside.

Both boys ran through the apartment and jumped off the second-floor balcony to get away from Simpson. The 19-year-old was later taken to the hospital in critical condition and had to have his spleen removed, according to the police.

Younger Sisters Also Caught in the Chaos

Two younger sisters, aged 13 and 12, were also inside the apartment. They had just returned from the pool with their friends when they saw Simpson nearby with a gun in his pocket.

As the brothers ran out, the girls went inside to change. That’s when the 12-year-old heard gunshots, and the 13-year-old went to see what was going on. She then saw Simpson pointing a gun at her and ran to hide in a closet under some clothes. Simpson opened the closet but didn’t see her.

While hiding, the 13-year-old said she heard more gunshots. At the same time, police had arrived and found the 12-year-old girl shot in the abdomen, hiding in the bathroom. She was rushed to the hospital along with her older brother. Both children are expected to survive.

Mother Reveals Threats from Simpson

When the children’s mother arrived, she told officers that she and Simpson had broken up. Earlier that day, Simpson had sent her several text messages asking to come back to the apartment where he once lived. She refused.

That’s when Simpson started calling and threatening her. She told police that he said if she didn’t come back, he would kill her kids. After he hung up, she called one of her sons and could hear him running in fear.

Simpson Arrested and Charged

Police arrested Simpson on Friday, and he now faces multiple charges, including:

Three counts of aggravated assault of a family member

Unlawful possession of a firearm

Burglary with intent to commit murder

He appeared in court on Monday, where his bond was set at $1,465,000. He is currently being held in the Harris County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court again on Thursday.

This deeply disturbing case shows the tragic consequences of domestic conflicts turning violent. Four innocent children were caught in the middle of something they had nothing to do with.

Thanks to their quick thinking and courage, the children managed to escape a worse fate, though two are now recovering from life-threatening injuries. The case also shows the importance of taking threats seriously, especially when children are involved.
